Sega Teams with Fanta For Phantasy Star Portable 2
Do you see what they did there?
Sega's latest tie-up for Phantasy Star Portable 2 might have worked a bit better if Yuji Naka had looked up "Fantasy" in a dictionary two decades ago.
To help promote the PSP sequel as well as Fanta beverages, Sega and Coca Cola are teaming up for a collaboration.
The promotion will take two forms. Fanta canned beverages wille appear as in-game items in PSP2. The in-game can designs are based off classic Fanta designs. Additionally, the official Fanta website will, starting this fall, hold campaigns to distribute weapon items that can be used in the game.
We'll get our first glimpse at this promotion at the Tokyo Game Show next week. The Phantasy Star Portable 2 corner of Sega's booth has been designed in the image of the collaboration. Those who try out the game at the booth will be given a Fanta Collaboration Strap featuring characters from the game.
This is the latest in a series of promotions Sega has been holding for Phantasy Star Portable 2. The company also made blog parts available at the game's official site today. Yesterday, Sega opened a Phantasy Star Portable 2 channel at video sharing site Nico Nico Video. The channel currently hosts a retail promo movie for the game.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 sees release on December 3.
