Here's Exactly One Screenshot of Castlevania WiiWare
Konami's classic franchise set for a rebirth next week.
You might have heard last week that Castlevania is on the way to WiiWare. Well then, you heard right! Konami is "resurrecting" (you LOLed, admit it) its classic franchise through Dracula Densetsu ReBirth, the next WiiWare "ReBirth" title to follow Contra and Gradius.
Wondering what the game looks like? If you have access to Famitsu, you got your first look last week. For everyone else, Konami at last provided media today through a whopping one screenshot! See here:
Dracula Densetsu ReBirth, literally Legend of Dracula ReBirth, is a remake of 1987's Dracula Densetsu, a Game Boy title that was released in the west as Castlevania: The Adventure. The WiiWare version features new visuals designed in a gothic theme, new monster and boss artwork, and music that pulls from the Castlevania series as a whole.
Konami describes ReBirth as a full remake, with "new concepts." This seems to suggest that we can expect more than just presentational upgrades.
The game can be played through the full myriad of Wii control methods: Wiimote, Wiimote + Nunchuck, Classic Controller, and GameCube Controller.
Look for this reborn Castlevania on October 27 at 1,000 WiiPoints. The game is rated B, so if you're under 12 you shouldn't have even read this article!
