Last Ranker Jump Demo Detailed

Capcom promises special demo showing off both battle and story parts.

Square Enix is usually the main attraction at the annual Jump Festa event. But this year, Capcom is giving a big push at the year-end show, offering visitors a first ever playable chance for two of its major 2010 releases: Sengoku Basara 3 and Last Ranker.

Recently, the company opened a development blog just for the show. At the blog, key staffers behind show titles share details on their show plans.

Last Ranker's blog post was penned by producer Minae Matsukawa. For the game's demo, he promises something different from the usual pattern of just ripping the prologue from the full game. Players can look forward to a special demo version that offers both battle and story parts.

Matsukawa's team is also working away at a promotion movie. This will detail the character relationships and also show battle footage.

(NOTE: Reader Oichi has pointed out that Matsukawa is actually a lady.)

Sengoku Basara 3's segment was penned by producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. While not revealing anything about the playable build, he does promise an original post card calendar present for all those who line up.

In addition to the playable builds, Capcom will be pushing their titles through stage events. You can see a stage schedule at the company's special Jump site. The Last Ranker stage will offer appearances by different voice actors depending on the day. Sengoku Basara 3 has two stages, one focused on the game and one focused on the manga that's set to be published in the December 18 Jump SQ.II.

Okamiden will also be shown at the event. It will presumably be featured next in the event blog.
