We've all heard of "tate" mode, where you play the home version of a vertical arcade shooter by turning your monitor on its side. Taito's new Darius arcade game may have a resolution that will be even harder to replicate:

Those are the first screens of Darius Burst Another Chronicle. Based off PSP's Darius Burst, the game uses a super wide screen monitor and allows four players to get in on the action simultaneously.

Head out to Akihabara's Hey arcade on the 7th and 8th to sample the game on location test. The Darius official site has also been updated with a look at the game, complete with Darius-ish sounds.

Another Chronicle is due for arcade release this winter.
