Square Enix Brings Chaos Rings to iPad Today

First look at Media Vision's original RPG in high res.

Check the AppStore later today, iPad owners, and you'll find a native Square Enix RPG waiting to be played. Square Enix released an iPad optimized version of Chaos Rings today.

Chaos Rings is an original iPhone/iPod touch RPG that Square Enix released back in April. Developed by Wild Arms developer Media Vision, the game features character designs from Yusuke Naora, a scenario from 428 scenario writer Yukinori Kitajima and music from composer Noriyasu Agematsu.

As of this writing, Square Enix has yet to actually announce the iPad version's availability. The announcement came from HI Corp, which says that the game uses its Mascot Capsule Eruption 3D engine.

You can read about the engine for yourself in Japanese and English at HI Corp's official site.

Square Enix will presumably make an announcement of its own later today.

Update 12:48: Square Enix has posted official notice of the iPad version. They're charging ¥1,800 for the high-res version, ¥300 more than the iPhone/iPod touch version.
