3rd Birthday Team Aims for Half a Million Units
Tetsuya Nomura and director Hajime Tabata share some development secrets via Twitter.
In the latest batch of Tweets at The 3rd Birthday official Twitter, Tetsuya Nomura and director Hajime Tabata shared some details into the game's target sales figures and what exactly such figures mean.
When The 3rd Birthday did the old platform switch from a cell phone game to PSP, producer Yoshinori Kitase gave a figure of 500,000 units to the team.
This doesn't mean that Square Enix has a sales target of half a million units for the game, though. Explained Nomura, this type of target figure is "an ideal sales figure image from the producer to help determine the scale of the project." For Crisis Core, he noted, Kitase gave out a one million target. They used this to determine the game content and formation of the staff.
In terms of actual sales, going by Dissidia Final Fantasy and Crisis Core, 3rd Birthday should have no problem beating the 500,000 mark domestically.
