Hudson Restructures For Social Games Focus
Company seeks voluntary redundancy of Japanese staff and closes US subsidiary.
Starting April 1, Hudson will be 100% Konami property. The move, approved at a shareholder meeting today, will be bringing with it some major changes to the Bomberman publisher.
As Konami indicated when announcing its plans a couple of months back, Hudson will be focusing its resources going forward on SNS (social network services). Going along with this change, the company will be cutting staff through a voluntary redundancy program. Those who step forward will receive severance and other bonuses and will be given assistance with future job placement. The company is seeking 40 people for the program.
Hudson will also be shutting down its US subsidiary, Hudson Entertaiment Inc. This will take place at the end of March.
