Super Sentai Game Adaptation Coming to Wii
Namco Bandai's latest Wii title features heroes from five tokusatsu shows.
Namco Bandai is readying a new game adaptation of the Super Sentai series of tokusatsu hero shows, Weekly Famitsu reports this week. Fully titled Super Sentai Battle Ranger Cross, this Wii title will see release this fall.
The first Super Sentai game in 9 years, Ranger Cross is a one to two player action game where you take control of heroes from five series: Himitsu Sentai Goranger, Tensou Sentai Soseiger, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, Engine Sentai Go-onger, and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. Himitsu Sentai Goranger is from the 70s, but the other shows are modern productions. You can read details on the various shows at Wikipedia.
Famitsu doesn't provide too much in the way of gameplay details. The magazine says that you'll be able to use the Wiimote to make yourself feel like the heroes, suggesting that the game will have a motion control component. It also promises special moves that you'll recognize from the shows, and bosses that convert to large form once you've defeated their standard forms.
