One Piece and Pandora's Tower Debut in the Top 10
Flood of new releases, but slow sales overall this week.
This week's Media Create chart covers the last full sales week of May. As usual, the last week of the month is packed with releases, and the release chart was expectedly packed with newcomers too.
One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special, a 3DS remake of the two Unlimited Cruise Wii titles, topped the charts with 80,488 units. Its release appears to have given the 3DS hardware a boost as well, taking the system back above the 20,000 mark (hardware figures are below the software chart).
The Nintendo-published Wii action title Pandora's Tower, from the same developer as One Piece, made it in at three, with 21,445 units. The PS3 version of Troy Musou beat it for second place. The Xbox 360 version did not place.
Other debuts this week include Namco Bandai Layton clone Treasure Report, the PSP version of Memories Off Yubikiri no Kioku (an Xbox 360 version was previously released), Xbox 360 shooter Akai Katana Shin, and the budget version of Atelier Totori.
Here's the full Media Create software chart covering 5/23 through 5/29, as relayed today at 4Gamer. In parentheses are life to date sales, release date and publisher. For a more visual look at the chart, see our rankings page.
