3DS Resident Evil Tops the Charts

Another overall slow week for software sales as PSP continues to top the hardware chart.

Phantom Breaker, a 2D Xbox 360 fighting game from 5pb., made it into the top 10 in an overall slow week for games.

Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D helped 3DS grab the top of the software charts for the second week in a row. But the system once again failed to top the PSP in hardware sales.

The first of two announced 3DS Resident Evil games, Mercenaries sol 58,792 units in its first week. It came out in what was an overall slow week for games, though, as second place One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP sold just 16,753 units. One Piece was last week's top game.

The only other newcomer in the top 20 was Phantom Breaker, a 2D fighting game from 5pb. for the Xbox 360. This sold 9,960 units.

The full sales chart covering May 30 through June 5, as reported today at 4Gamer, follows. Life to date sales and release date are included in parentheses.
