Namco Bandai Details New Tales Games
Stage event offers first look at Tales of the Heroes and latest details on Tales of Innocence R.
As expected, today's Tales of series Tokyo Game Show press conference served as the official unveiling point of the second new Tales game of the week. Have a first look at Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave.
Twin Brave is an action-focused spinoff for PSP. Players select a character from past Tales titles and fight in pairs.
The game has characters from 15 Tales series, each with their very own scenario. Confirmed characters include Jude and Milla from the recent Tales of Xillia, Yuri and Fren from Tales of Vesperia, and Llyod and Zelos from Tales of Symphonia.
(We erroneously reported yesterday that the game is for Vita. It's actually for PSP.)
Namco Bandai also made a more detailed announcement of Tales of Innocence R, which was revealed earlier this week to be a "reimagining" of DS's Tales of Innocence for PlayStation Vita. The Vita version promises new characters, new scenarios, full voice, and a remastered story. Namco Bandai is also readying a new theme song, New Day, New Life, performed once again by Kokia.
At the press conference, Namco Bandai noted that the game uses the Vita's touch features for its "Direct Interaction Linear Motion Battle System," letting you tap a party member to issue skill commands.
Both Tales games are due for release in 2012.
