Warriors Orochi Sequel Announced

Sequel to crossover Musou title arriving this December.

From PS3's Warriors Orochi Z

Like most Tecmo Koei Musou series games, Musou Orochi will be getting a sequel. The latest Famitsu has a first look at Musou Orochi 2.

The original Musou Orochi, known as Warriors Orochi internationally, was released on PS2 and Xbox 360 in 2007. The game is a crossover of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors games, bringing together characters from the two titles.

A followup, Musou Orochi Maou Sairin, or Warriors Orochi 2 internationally, followed the next year on PS2, Xbox 360 and PSP. A PS3 entry, Musou Orochi Z/Warriors Orochi Z, was released in 2009 and combined the first two games.

Musou Orochi 2 is due for PS3 release this December. Famitsu shows Kaguya as a new character addition.

Famitsu has a lengthy spread on the game, so we should get additional details shortly.

NOTE: The original version of this story referred to the sequel under the English "Warriors Orochi 2." That name has already been taken for the Maou Sairin followup, so Tecmo Koei will presumably use a different name internationally. We also mistakenly listed the game as being for PS3 and Xbox 360. Famitsu only appears to list a PS3 version. Of course, similar to Dynasty Warriors 7, we can probably expect an Xbox 360 version for the game's international release.
