Famitsu Scores Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker PS3 Slightly Higher than Xbox 360

The latest scores from Japan's biggest games magazine.

Famitsu usually rates multiplatform games with the same score. Not so with Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD, though. The magazine's four person review crew awarded the PS3 version 10, 10, 9 and 10. The 360 version scored just a bit lower, at 10, 9, 9, and 9.

Based off the text of the review, it doesn't look like there's much of a difference between the two games on their own. However, the reviewers felt that the PS3 version offers extra value with the inclusion of a download code for a free copy of the PSP version of Peace Walker. They also said the ability to share save data between the home and portable (the game's "Transfarring" feature, as it's officially known) is a plus.

The PSP version of Peace Walker scored a perfect 10, 10, 10 and 10 early last year. (See this story for a summary of the review).

As you might have guessed by all the 10s and 9s, the reviewers agreed that Peace Walker, in the home or on the go, is a quality title. The game has seen various adjustments for the HD conversion which improve the playability, the reviewers said.

Wondering what Famitsu thought of Metal Gear Solid HD Edition? You're going to have to wait for that review. The Japanese release for the HD remake of MGS2 and 3 is set for later in November.
